What follows is an account of actions taken on April 19 by the Bridgewater Township Council, which, while not breaking news, are still of note.

Council approves ordinance eliminating some parking

The council unanimously approved an from Route 22 to the southerly intersection with Chelsea Way.

This is being done in accordance with a request from the zoning board in creating a condition to eliminate parking near the on Route 22.

The eliminated parking was a condition of the approval for an addition to the dealership.

Township completes payment for turf field

With the completion of the improvement project at the municipal complex, the council unanimously approved a resolution to provide the final payment to Landtek Group, Inc.

The final payment is for $18,886.

Township applying for Highway Traffic Safety grants

The council unanimously approved a resolution to apply for two different grants from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety.

The grants are for aggressive driving enforcement and child passenger safety.

The township is looking to receive $10,000 for the former, and $4,000 for the latter.
