Hayes Elected Mayor, Moench and Rose Selected to Council

Republicans sweep elections.

Republican Dan Hayes was elected mayor in Tuesday's elections, with a total of 3,962 votes, while Republican incumbents Matthew Moench and Christine Henderson Rose each won three-year terms on the council with 4,852 and 4,725 votes, respectively.

In total, about 48 percent of voters voted for Hayes in the mayoral election.

Democratic candidate for mayor Jim Ventantonio received 2,600 votes, while his running mates for council, Mary Pranzatelli and John Rooney earned 3,123 and 2,988 votes, respectively.

Independent candidate for mayor George Jones earned a total of 1,652 votes.
