Hayes Running Unopposed for Mayor in 2011

Three residents are running for two Republican nominations for council.

With current Mayor Patricia Flannery not seeking re-election this year, councilman has been tapped by the Republican Party to run for the position this year.

Hayes is running for the position unopposed for the Republican nomination in the June primaries.

The deadline to file for the June primaries was Monday at 4 p.m.

Aside from the open mayoral seat, three people are running for two Republican nominations for township council as current council members Matthew Moench's and Christine Henderson Rose's terms will be ending this year.

Both Moench and Rose are running for the Republican nomination with the support of the township's Republican Party.

Michael Pestorius, of Cabot Hill Road, is running independently for the Republican nomination in the primaries, under the designation of "Your Neighbor for Efficient Government."

No petitions were filed by residents for the Democratic nomination in the primaries.

Primary elections will be held June 7.
