How Much Do Bridgewater Department Heads Earn?

Compensation for council, mayor remain flat; others see 2 percent increase.

The approved an ordinance Monday night that set salaries for department heads and other municipal employees, with very little change in expenditures.

The compensations for mayor ($15,000), council president ($8,000), council members ($7,000), director of administration ($147,000) and municipal judge ($52,000) remain the same as last year.

Increases of 2 percent are incorporated into the compensation for the following positions:

  • Township Clerk—$90,407
  • Director of Finance/Chief Finance Officer—$111,965
  • Tax Assesso—$109,994
  • Director of Municipal Services/Township Engineer—$123,908
  • Director of Human Services—$96,434
  • Court Clerk/Administrator—$66,299
  • Public Defender—$600

The Chief of Police received a 2.75 percent increase.

Compensation for the director of law and prosecutor are by contract.

Township Administrator James Naples had previously indicated the salaries are consistent with what was passed and accounted for in the 2012 budget.

The ordinance was passed by unanimous vote of the three council members present (Council President Allen Kurdyla, Howard Norgalis and Filipe Pedroso).
