Incumbents Win Republican Nominations

Matthew Moench and Christine Henderson Rose won the two nominations for township council.

Incumbents Matthew Moench and Christine Henderson Rose received the most Republican votes in the primaries Tuesday, defeating challenger Mike Pestorius for the Republican Party nominations for November's general election.

Moench received the most votes, with a total of 858, while Rose received 693, according to the unofficial results.

Pestorius received a total of 525 votes.

In the uncontested Democratic races, John Rooney and Mary Pranzatelli have the two nominations to run for township council in the November general elections, receiving 323 and 329 respectively.

Also in the uncontested races, Dan Hayes will be running for mayor under the Republican Party and received 993 votes, while Jim Ventantonio will be running under the Democratic Party, having received 328.

A total of 1,509 votes were cast in the township, out of 28,122 registered voters in Bridgewater. Almost every district saw less than 10 percent of its registered voters taking part.
