Parking to be Curbed on Portion of Adamsville Rd.

It is in response to a zoning board application from Open Road Automotive.

In response to a zoning board application approval in February 2011 for amendments to renovations planned at , the council unanimously introduced an ordinance April 2 to prohibit parking on Adamsville Road near the business.

According to township engineer Robert Bogart, when the application was before the zoning board, there were complaints from audience members about parking on Adamsville Road.

“So the board of adjustment dictated a condition that there could be no parking at all near the dealership,” he said. “This ordinance is proposed to place no parking signs on the portion of Adamsville Road adjacent to the dealership.”

The ordinance, if approved, will not allow parking on either side of Adamsville Road from Route 22 south to the southerly intersection with Chelsea Way.

The Mercedes-Benz dealership has been on the property since 1992, and it received approval to build an addition on the showroom, as well as additional square footage on the second floor of the building for offices. It sits on 4.16 acres, with frontage on Route 22 and Adamsville Road.
