Sandy Brush Clean-Up Almost Complete

The DPW is just collecting the remaining trees and stumps.

The township is almost finished with its pick-up of branches, logs, stumps and other materials that fell during Superstorm Sandy, according to a release from the township.

As of January, the seven contractors hired through emergency funding to clean up brush left on curbsides after Superstorm Sandy had completed their work collecting once from each street in Bridgewater.

At that point, about 75 percent of the township was reportedly done with cleanup, and the Department of Public Works was finishing the remainder of the work.

And now, the release said, all township roads have had brush removed, and there are a few remaining areas where DPW staff will remove logs and stumps left over.

Any debris placed along the road at this point will not be picked up, the release said.

But the township’s yard waste site on Foothill Road is open for residents to drop off materials, free of charge. Any contractors dropping off materials will be charged at the site unless they are accompanied by a resident, or have a signed and dated letter with the date of the drop-off.

Those with any questions can call the engineering department at 908-725-6300, ext. 5500.

How does your neighborhood look? Is the debris gone?
