T-Mobile Hearing Still On, Extension Requested

The agenda for the zoning board lists a request for extension to Dec. 31.

After two previous cancellations, T-Mobile is scheduled to return before the zoning board Tuesday to hear public comment on its application for a 125-foot cell tower at the —but the hearing may not go as expected.

According to the zoning board agenda, the board will hear a request for a time extension to Dec. 31.

The company was expected to come back before the zoning board in September, but that was postponed until Nov. 15. From there, another postponement was requested to Dec. 6.

Board members have said they are displeased that the application is continuing to drag on, and that residents are not having the opportunity to speak because of the extensions.

Testimony from all T-Mobile experts was completed at the Aug. 16 zoning board meeting, and the board is now expected to hear public comments before making a decision.

T-Mobile is requesting permission to build the tower—a flagpole with antennas within the pole and two GPS antennas lower down on the pole—to cover an approximately 1.7-mile gap in coverage area, specifically in areas on Foothill and Crim roads and North Bridge Street.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal complex.
