Traffic Light Planned on Foothill Road

And the council approves a decreasing change order.

A new traffic light is planned on residential roads to ensure the safety of drivers.

The township council unanimously approved a resolution Thursday to approve the installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of Foothill and Mine roads.

The agreement for the installation is between the township and county, and the county will install the signal itself, as Foothill Road is a county road.

According to the resolution, this traffic light is expected to minimize accidents at the intersection.

The council also approved a resolution to authorize a change order for a 2011 road resurfacing project on portions of Downey Road, Jackson Street and Woodfield Road.

The authorization is for a decrease in the contract, from $236,431.50 to $203,718.85.

According to the resolution, there was a decrease in the quantity of materials used for the project.
