Vornehm Reappointed as Zoning Board Chair

The zoning board holds its annual reorganization.

The Bridgewater Township Board of Adjustment held its annual reorganization Tuesday, reappointing William Vornehm as chairman of the board.

Member Donald Sweeney was appointed as vice chairman of the board of adjustment.

Most members of the board remain the same in the coming year, with the addition of Michael Kirsh as alternate #4.

And current member , following his election Tuesday as council member to fill a seat vacated by Mayor Dan Hayes.

In terms of board professionals, the zoning board unanimously approved the reappointments of Lawrence Vastola as board attorney and Scarlett Doyle as planner, both with contracts lasting from Jan. 1, 2012 through Dec. 31, 2012.

Current acting township administrator Robert Bogart has been tapped as the board's engineer. when former administrator James Naples returns to the township Jan. 31, after having left for Clinton in January 2011.

Bogart's term as engineer for the board will also last until Dec. 31, 2012.

The board also determined its meeting schedule for the coming year. Meetings, according to Vornehm, will be held on the first, third and last Tuesdays of every month.

The only exceptions, Vornehm said, will be in November and December, when meetings fall on Election Day and Christmas, respectively, and will therefore not be held.

Meetings will continue to be held at 7:30 p.m. in the courtroom of the municipal complex.
