Administration Congratulates District on Honors

The district recently went through its QSAC monitoring.

Superintendent of Schools Michael Schilder announced Tuesday that the district has recently undergone its regular QSAC testing—and was designated as high performing.

“It’s really a thank you to every employee, every staff member, every teacher, every teacher aide in the district for the outstanding educational system,” he said during the board of education meeting.

As part of the monitoring, Schilder said, the district was assessed in five areas—instruction and program; fiscal management; governance; operations; and personnel.

Of those areas, Schilder said, only instruction and program received a 90 percent rating, while the other four all achieved a 100 percent rating.

“The reason that category was less was because of ASK results with some of the sub populations in the district,” he said. “We have some work to do in those areas.”

Otherwise, Schilder said, the district was well above where it is required to be.

“We are well above the requirement that says we have to satisfy 80 percent in all weighted areas,” he said.

Because of the high performance rating, Schilder said, the district will not have to be monitored for another three years.

Schilder and Cheryl Dyer, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, also commended the on a recent ranking by Newsweek and US News.
