BOE Candidacy Information Available

The district releases information about the April elections.

The has announced that information is available for anyone interested in running for one of the three open seats on the board of education in the April elections.

According to a release from the district, there will be three open seats on the board this year, and residents will vote April 17 for who will fill the three-year terms.

Board of education members Patrick Breslin, Cindy Cullen and newly appointed Daniel Petrozelli will be up for election this year.

In order to get their names on the ballot, according to the release, candidates are required to file a nominating petition with the local school board. The deadline for submitting the petition is 4 p.m. Feb. 27.

Those interested in being on the ballot can find a "School Board Candidate Kit" at njsba.org, on the district's website ar at the Bridgewater-Raritan Board Office. The kit is published by the New Jersey School Boards Association, and includes a nominating petition, information about legal qualifications for candidacy and the role of the board member.

In addition, according to the release, information about the New Jersey School Ethics Act and important dates in the process are included.
