BOE Discussing Corporate Partnerships for Internships, Lectures
The board is discussing partnerships with local corporations.
The board of education is looking into the possibility of partnering with corporations to offer more educational and other opportunities for students in the future.
Board member Evan Lerner said at the Feb. 12 meeting that the community relations committee has been looking into the possibility of partnering with corporations to create opportunities for students to get internships.
“We could also have people come in and lecture,” he said. “Maybe there could be grants and financial assistance.”

Lerner said it is just about establishing those partnerships in the community.
“The idea is really to try to establish relationships with local corporations on a regular basis,” he said.

Currently, Lerner said, the committee is already looking into some local companies that might be willing to partner with the district for these opportunities.
In addition, Lerner said, the committee is waiting to speak with representatives from the math and science departments in the district to talk about how these corporations might assist in these subjects.
What do you think about this idea, Bridgewater? Will it be beneficial for students to have access to these corporations throughout town?
