Two New Faces Join Board of Education Thursday

Aaron Kurdyla and Jacqueline Barlow will be sworn in for first time, while Patrick Breslin begins new term.

Two new board members and one current will be sworn in Thursday when the board of education reorganizes at its meeting at the Harmon V. Wade Administration building.

Patrick Breslin will be re-sworn in to the board of education for his new term, and Aaron Kurdyla and Jacqueline Barlow will be sworn in for their first terms on the board after all were elected in November.

The latter two will take the place of Cindy Cullen and Daniel Petrozelli, who were not re-elected.

The meeting will also include the election of a board president and board vice president, as well as selection of members for individual committees with the board.

In addition, the board will take care of several other necessities for the reorganization, including adopting existing curricula and textbooks, adopting a meeting schedule and adopting board of education policies.

Business Administrator Peter Starrs will also be reappointed as board secretary for the coming year.

This will be the first time a board of education reorganization meeting has been held in January after the elections were moved from April to November in 2012.

The meeting will be held at 8 p.m. at the building on Newmans Lane.
