BRHS Marching Band Prepares For 2010 Season

The Bridgewater-Raritan Marching Band prepares an Aaron Copland show for the 2010 competition season.

The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Marching Band is finishing a run of intense, all-day practices in preparation for the start of the 2010 season.

Led by band director Lawrence Markiewicz, the band will perform a show entitled "The Colors of Copland: Red, White, and Blue," celebrating Aaron Copland's distinctly American music, and featuring selections of three songs, "Red Pony," "Simple Gifts" and "Down a Country Lane."

At approximately 150 members, Bridgewater-Raritan High School's marching band is one of the largest in the state, and is ranked a Group VI by the United States Scholastic Band Association (USSBA).  The band will compete in the USSBA competition circuit, as well as the Bands of America (BoA) circuit, which features the best bands in the country.
