BRHS Students of the Week, April 12

Students are chosen to be honored at the high school.

As part of a new program at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School instituted by new principal Brett Charleston, at least one student is chosen every week to be honored for his or her contributions to the community at some point that week.

In this column, we will honor those students each week, with the information included in Charleston's weekly principal's column, on the school's website.

Congratulations to the most recent honorees!

  • Victoria Umbach—(nominated by Celeste Gibbons) Umbach has shown valuable leadership during homeroom. She is friendly to all the students and greets them with a smile. When a new student entered our class, she pointedly greeted her and made her feel welcome. If I am absent, she assists the sub with attendance and leaves me a note.
  • Anirudh Arikarevula—(nominated by Scott Linzer) Arikarevula displays hard work, determination and dedication in designing and creating two websites for the district (www.brrsd.net/holh for the Homes of Living Hope project and www.brrsd.net/music_grade4/ — a recruitment site for grade 4 students to research the instruments and to sign up). He did both sites while working as an independent study student. He comes to his independent study every day, ready to work and eager to learn. He spends his free time working at home to further his knowledge in web design.
