BRHS Students of the Week, Feb. 8

Students are chosen to be honored at the high school.

As part of a new program at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School instituted by new principal Brett Charleston, at least one student is chosen every week to be honored for his or her contributions to the community at some point that week.

In this column, we will honor those students each week, with the information included in Charleston's weekly principal's column, on the school's website.

Congratulations to the most recent honorees!

  • Alec Caseiro—(nominated by Diane Setcavage) Caseiro assisted a fellow student that was having difficulty opening up his locker. The student was extremely agitated and upset, as all his materials for the day were contained in his locker that he could not open after repeated attempts. Caseiro immediately came to the student’s aid, comforted him and reassured him that he would try to help him with his locker. Caseiro left the room with his fellow classmate and was successful at opening up the locker. I was very impressed with how quickly he offered his assistance, at how kind he was and with his genuine compassion.
  • Alexandra Pelligrino—(nominated by Sonia Avellan) Pelligrino volunteered to help another student understand grammar concepts
during her after school free time. She routinely offers to help fellow students in class.
