BRHS Students of the Week, Jan. 18

Students are chosen to be honored at the high school.

As part of a new program at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School instituted by new principal Brett Charleston, at least one student is chosen every week to be honored for his or her contributions to the community at some point that week.

In this column, we will honor those students each week, with the information included in Charleston's weekly principal's column, on the school's website.

Congratulations to the most recent honorees!

  • Olivia Mazzaferro—(nominated by Lilia Klubuk) Someone put an iPhone 5 into Mazzaferro’s backpack by accident during one her classes. She tried to figure out who was the owner of the phone but it was locked. She then gave the phone to one of her teachers in order to help track who the owner was. The owner got the phone back and was very appreciative.
  • Ken Nwankwo—(nominated by Deborah Lobrace & Phylis Schneider) Schneider and Lobrace were entering the 900 building and their hands were full. Nwankwo stopped and opened the door. He then ran into the building and opened the second set of doors for us. He is very polite!
