BRHS Students of the Week, Jan. 25

Students are chosen to be honored at the high school.

As part of a new program at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School instituted by new principal Brett Charleston, at least one student is chosen every week to be honored for his or her contributions to the community at some point that week.

In this column, we will honor those students each week, with the information included in Charleston's weekly principal's column, on the school's website.

Congratulations to the most recent honorees!

  • Carli Horton—(nominated by Alfonso Gonnella) Horton is one of the hardest working students I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She completes all of her assignments with accuracy. Also, she is one of the nicest and most outgoing students in the entire school. Her smile is contagious. She always goes out of her way to help her fellow classmates both academically and personally. It is an absolute pleasure to interact with this student each day and I’m certain that her classmates feel the same.
  • Matthew Mirlocca—(nominated by Joann Morella) Mirlocca is a student who is always first to volunteer to help a peer with homework or
catch them up on notes missed because of an absence. There are also times when he will stop doing his own work in order to explain an Algebra or Biology lesson when a peer just didn’t “get it” in class that day. Just the other week, he literally had a group that he was helping!
