BRHS Students of the Week, June 7

Students are chosen to be honored at the high school.

As part of a new program at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School instituted by new principal Brett Charleston, at least one student is chosen every week to be honored for his or her contributions to the community at some point that week.

In this column, we will honor those students each week, with the information included in Charleston's weekly principal's column, on the school's website.

Congratulations to the most recent honorees!

  • Andrew Calderaro—(nominated by Kelly Anderson) Calderaro has demonstrated incredible responsibility by repeatedly finding IDs and he says "making it his mission” to return them all. Sometimes he gives them to me; sometimes he brings them to the office. As the rest of his class can attest, he brings energy and humor to the classroom while also being morally responsible. He is a positive influence to the BRHS community.
  • Adriana Alpizar—(nominated by Valerie Bonnet) Recently Alpizar witnessed a head-on car crash. Adriana immediately got out of her car, went to the woman's aid and called 911. Adriana stayed with the woman, comforting her until help arrived.
  • Nicole Colarusso—(nominated by Silvia Sorace) I had the pleasure of having Colarusso as a student in Italian III Honors, and this past year she was the secretary of the Italian Honor Society. She is currently a senior. She was an outstanding student, with superior work ethics, and a positive attitude toward school and her peers; always kind and respectful, truly a role model. This last year, as the secretary of the Italian Honor Society, she was reliable, trustworthy and full of initiative, ready to help at the drop of a hat. It was an honor knowing you, the future is brighter for everybody with young people like you. I will miss you!!!
