BRHS Students of the Week, March 1

Students are chosen to be honored at the high school.

As part of a new program at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School instituted by new principal Brett Charleston, at least one student is chosen every week to be honored for his or her contributions to the community at some point that week.

In this column, we will honor those students each week, with the information included in Charleston's weekly principal's column, on the school's website.

Congratulations to the most recent honorees!

  • Lauren Moss—(nominated by Aileen Zylberman) Moss exhibits a commitment to help other students. She  has volunteered to meet with students that have issues and concerns and gives them hope. She is currently writing a book about her experience and writes a weekly column that inspires others. I call on Moss to help me with students and she has been instrumental in getting students to me and with obtaining outside help. She is truly an inspiration.
  • Nicholas Russo—(nominated by Jennifer Kole) Russo noticed me in the cafeteria working with a student with special needs. I was teaching the student to use pictures on his IPAD to communicate. He  has volunteered to be a weekly communication partner for this student during his own lunch time. He  patiently models language for this student by engaging him in friendly conversation. He  shows him how to press the buttons and even gave me tips for improving IPAD applications. By offering his knowledge and help once a week during his lunch period, Russo makes a difference in my student’s life.
