BRHS Students of the Week Named, Oct. 19

Students are chosen to be honored at the high school.

As part of a new program at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School instituted by new principal Brett Charleston, at least one student is chosen every week to be honored for his or her contributions to the community at some point that week.

In this new column, we will honor those students each week, with the information included in Charleston's weekly principal's column, on the school's website.

Congratulations to each week's honorees!

  • Rachel Glassman—(nominated by Anne Higgins) Glassman spends much of her school day devoted to being an outstanding peer mentor to her peers in the Life Skills/ABA classes as a service learning student, “P.E. Partner” and C.E.C officer. Glassman encourages her peers to be inclusive of all BRHS students, regardless of ability. She is an exceptionally positive role model for all students. Perhaps most importantly, Glassman is kind to everyone she encounters.
  • Tom Longo—(nominated by Patricia Cahill): At the beginning of the school year, I mentioned to Longo that we needed volunteers for the 3rd annual Daniel T. Liss Torbethon, a 5K run/walk in honor of Danny Liss. Longo said that he would help, and this past weekend, he showed up at the event with 10 members of the wrestling team and his coaches. I was so thrilled to see Longo go the extra mile. Longo exhibits strong leadership skills!
