Registrations are now being accepted for its Fall semester of music and movement classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their parents and/or other caregivers. The 10 week Fall semester will start September 22nd and classes are held once a week for 45 minutes.

According to Center Director Jenny Goings, Music Together classes involve children and parents in singing, chanting rhythmic rhymes, creative movement experiences and instrument playing activities that are developmentally appropriate and fun for young children and grownups. Families continue the activities at home with the support of audio recordings and a songbook each family receives each semester, plus access to an online membership with downloads, videos and more. The Fall 2014 song collection, called the “Bongos Collection” contains multicultural folk music as well as original and traditional songs and chants in a wide variety of meters, tonalities and cultural styles for a rich music experience.

Music Together® is a internationally recognized early childhood music program that began as an educational project of the Center for Music and Young Children® of Princeton, NJ in 1987. Through its research-based curriculum, Music Together helps families rediscover the pleasure and educational value of participatory musical experiences. Through centers in thousands of locations in over 40 countries, Music Together children brings the joys of music making into family life.

Music Together classes are held at the Rockaway Reformed Church in Whitehouse Station, the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center in Bridgewater and Paradise Golf in Flemington. Siblings of different ages can attend the “mixed age” class together and siblings receive a tuition discount. Siblings age birth to 7 months may attend mixed age classes at no charge.
