Buildings Get Spruced Up Before School Starts

Several roofing and other projects are being worked on around the district in advance of the start of school in September.

Patrick Breslin, vice president of the board of education, said at the July 24 board of education meeting that roofing projects are ongoing at and primary schools, and are scheduled to be completed by the end of August.

The board approved payments to E.R. Barrett, Inc. to complete the work at both schools.

“All that work is on target,” he said.

In addition, Breslin said, the district has received a donation for landscaping at Basilone Field, as well as for a new scoreboard there.

The board of education received a donation from the Bridgewater-Raritan Pop Warner for the landscaping work, valued at $15,994.73.

From there, the board approved a donation from the Panther Athletic Club and others for $13,550 to be put toward a scoreboard at the newest turf field at the .

Breslin also announced there will be floor tile replacements in a number of the buildings and summer cleaning is continuing.

Finally, Breslin announced that solar canopy projects are beginning  at the high school and the . The project was presented to the planning board earlier this year concerning to be built in the parking lots at the two schools.
