Tan, Luo Lead Panther Boys Swim Team to Victory

The swimming teams traveled to the Berkeley Aquatics Center to take on Watchung Hills Regional High School in a dual meet between the two Skyland Conference rivals Tuesday. The Panthers boys dominated the pool to improve their record to 3-0 on the young season. The Panthers girls won seven of the 11 events, and improved to 2-1.

IN SHORT

The Panthers boys were lead by Jason Tan, who won two individual events [200 Individual Medley, 100 Freestyle] and anchored the winning 200 Freestyle relay. Tan also anchored the second place 200 Medley Relay. Victor Luo won the 50 Freestyle and swam on two winning relays. In all, the Panthers boys won 10 of the 11 events.

For the Panthers girls, Lauren Hall, Dana Yu, Emma Sommers and Christine Egan each won an individual event and swam a leg on a winning relay. Jen Chen was the Panthers girls other individual winner, as she won the 100 Breaststroke.

COACH'S TAKE

“We tried a little bit of a different lineup today with some of the girls in different events. As a team we did very good today and had some nice surprises in some of the results. Lauren Saperstein showed leadership on our relays, swimming on both winning relay teams.”—girls head coach Chris Levin.
