Last Chance: Time to File Board of Education Petitions

Tuesday is the last day to file with the county.

With the school elections moved to November, the final day to file a petition to run in the board of education elections is Tuesday.

Here's what you need to know about the filing deadline:

  • There are three spots open on the board of education, and new three-year terms will begin in January.
  • Petitions must be filed with the county clerk by 4 p.m. in order to get a name on the ballot.
  • Elections will be held Nov. 6.
  • For more information, and to submit a petition, contact the county clerk at the office at 20 Grove Street in Somerville, or call 908-231-7013.
