Meeting to Include Redistricting, Principal Talk

The board of education meeting will be held in Raritan Tuesday.

The Board of Education will focus much of its meeting Tuesday on continued discussions about the options for redistricting.

The was presented at the Feb. 14 meeting, and board discussions began Feb. 28. They are expected to continue through Tuesday's meeting, with one more scheduled set of discussions before a decision is expected at the end of the month or in early April.

After discussing programming at the last meeting, the board is expecting to talk about bus routes now.

With the session being a work meeting, board members will also be presenting committee reports, which will include a discussion on transportation advertising from member Lynne Hurley, as well as property evaluations from board vice president Patrick Breslin.

Member Cindy Cullen is expected to discuss high school principal candidacy interviews, as the search begins to hire a principal to replace James Riccobono, who retired last June. Currently is serving as interim principal, with his term expiring July 31, 2012.

The agenda also calls for discussions on dress code and high school attendance, plus board member Ann Marie Mead will give a report on communication with the public about negotiations and the budget.

The meeting will be held at 8 p.m. at the in Raritan.
