Parents Concerned E-Blasts Not Being Sent
It is a matter of registering on the website to get the notices.
One parent expressed concerns at a recent board of education meeting that some are not receiving the e-blast messages in their email accounts and are missing notices of meetings and other information.
“Some parents were receiving e-blasts, and now they’re not receiving them,” said Bradley Gardens parent Laura Scolarice, adding that one parent missed a middle school orientation because she hadn’t received the e-blast announcing it.
Scolarice said she wonders if something can be done to ensure there is another option if something is wrong with the email.

“I know we’re paperless, and we want to stick to it,” she said. “But maybe, say, three times a year, the district could send out a paper with dates or something, so if parents aren’t getting e-blasts, they have a couple opportunities to know about extra meetings that are going on.”
Superintendent of Schools Michael Schilder said he believes the vast majority of parents are receiving them, but it is a simple matter of re-registering on the website if they are not.

“That is probably the quickest way to get back on,” he said.
Schilder said he would check with all principals to see if they have heard any concerns about a lack of e-blasts going out.
Board president Patrick Breslin said he has heard that some Internet providers have made changes to their spam detectors that could be filtering the e-blasts to spam.
“I’ve noticed in my own email account that things I’m used to getting don’t show up every once in a while,” he said. “It’s not a bad place to check.”
Are you still receiving the e-blasts? Would you prefer receiving a paper copy of notices a few times a year?
