Poll: Are Police Officers Needed to Discourage Drinking at Football Games?

District is employing an extra officer at games because of past incidents on premises.

The district recently reported that several students were found —and they are hiring additional police officers to help ensure this doesn't happen again.

The decision to have six police officers on hand at home football games instead of five will officially take affect at Thursday's home game against Immaculata High School. Superintendent of Schools Michael Schilder has said that additional officers were always needed for that game in the past because of the number of spectators, but now that additional officer will be requested at every home game.

Several students at , who declined to be identified, have said they are unsurprised to hear that alcohol has been consumed at home football games, and are, in fact, certain it is happening.

High school principal Lew Ludwig has said he will address the issue of alcohol at football games in an announcement during school Wednesday.
