School Aid Increases about $1 Million

The district will receive more than $9 million in state aid for the 2012-2013 year.

The is looking at receiving an additional 12.9 percent in state aid for the 2012-2013 school year as opposed to the year before.

According to information released Thursday, the district will be receiving $9,087,358. This is an increase of $1,038,050 over the total amount of aid it received for the 2011-2012 school year.

The for the 2012-2013 school year is for $133,817,689. This accounts for remaining at the 2 percent tax levy cap, as well as assuming for flat state aid.

The district also has an additional $700,000 in state aid money left over from a late appropriation in 2011.

Presentations on the school budget are expected to continue through March and April, when it will be approved. The district has already voted to , so the residents will not be able to vote on it as long as it remains within that 2 percent cap.
