Schools Set Early Dismissals; Cancel Afternoon Activities

Special Planning Board to begin mosque hearings meeting still scheduled.

Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School schools will have early dismissal today because of the winter storm which the National Weather Service said could drop as much as three to seven inches of snow this afternoon.

Also, the district has canceled all after-school programs, afternoon kindergarten and after-care programs.

Classes at Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School will be dismissed at 12:02 p.m.; middle school classes at 11:58 a.m. and the district's intermediate schools at 1:40 p.m. Primary grade schools will be dismissed at 12:55 p.m., with morning kindergarten classes at 11:15 a.m.

The special meeting of the Planning Board scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. to begin the review of the application for a mosque on Mountain Top Road is still on schedule—but that could change as the storm develops.

Ironically, the hearings were first scheduled to begin Dec. 11—but were canceled when a winter storm struck the area that day

The snow is expected to continue until about 1 a.m. as an arctic front moves into the area.
