Seven Running for Three Open Spots on Board of Education

The deadline for filing to run for the board of education was 4 p.m. Tuesday.

There are currently three open spots on the  Board of Education—two for Bridgewater residents and one for a Raritan resident—and a total of seven people vying for those spots.

Representing Bridgewater on the board, incumbents Evan Lerner, of Morningside Drive, and Arvind Mathur, of Newmans Lane, filed for reelection as of the deadline Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Also running for one of the two open spots to represent Bridgewater on the board are Lisa Giranda, of Rolling Hills Road; Barbara Kane, of Vroom Drive; and Elizabeth Eisinger Lande, of Dow Road.

Vying for the one open spot to represent Raritan Borough on the board of education is incumbent Al Smith, of West Somerset Street, and newcomer Ann Marie Mead, of Riverside Avenue.

They are all running for three-year terms on the board.
