'First Class' Support: Seniors Collecting School Supplies

Supplies will be given to children of disadvantaged families.

The Bridgewater Senior Citizens Center is going back to school this summer.

The seniors are supporting the annual “Project First Class” school supplies collection, an initiative of the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women.

Donations of supplies will be distributed to children of families served by the Food Bank Network of Somerset County.

“Families are still struggling as a result of Hurricane Sandy and the economy in general, and school supplies are out of reach for many,” said Freeholder Mark Caliguire, commission liaison.
