School Violence, Vandalism to be Discussed

The board of education is holding a regular session meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The board of education will hear four presentations at Tuesday's meeting, including a discussion about options if a choice were to be made to move the April elections to November.

Gov. Chris Christie has signed a bill that allows to be moved to November from their current spot in April. The change can be initiated by either the board of education, the township council or the residents themselves through a petition.

If elections are moved to November, residents will only have the opportunity to vote on the school budget if it exceeds the 2 percent cap limit. They will continue voting on school board members, and those will remain non-partisan.

Speaking of the budget, Superintendent of Schools Michael Schilder will also give his second presentation of the proposed 2012-2013 district budget, having given the .

Also on the agenda is a presentation Schilder concerning the regular put together by the district every few months.

And George Rauh, principal of , will present a program titled "How Full is Your Bucket."

The board will also approve the receipt of grants, and discuss several policies that have been debated in the past, including a concern over whether teachers and staff should be able to make .

The meeting will begin with a closed session at 7 p.m., before opening to the public at 8 p.m. at the on Newmans Lane.
