RVCC Art Students Can Now Transfer to Art Institute of Chicago

Becomes only East Coast school to have direct transfer agreement with prestigious art school.

Raritan Valley Community College is now the fifth community college in the country to sign a transfer agreement with the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

The new agreement enables RVCC students to seamlessly transfer into the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program at SAIC, providing they fulfill the necessary requirements. This includes participating in a portfolio review for the transfer of studio credit and placement in SAIC’s departments of Fashion Design; Visual Communication Design; Architecture, Interior Architecture and Designed Objects; Film, Video, New Media and Animation; and Photography.

“RVCC is proud to be the only college on the East Coast to sign a transfer agreement with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the oldest accredited art college in the U.S. This new agreement is a terrific opportunity for RVCC students to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at a school that’s ranked the number two arts college in the country by U.S. News & World Report,” said James B. Ventantonio, RVCC Interim President.
