Ducks Beat Patriots, as Teams Split Series

Somerset only able to score one run off of Long Island pitching.

The Long Island Ducks defeated the Somerset Patriots 5-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Thursday night.

The Ducks took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Lee Cruz (7).

The Patriots cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Corey Smith.

Long Island answered with two more runs in the second on a two-run double by Kraig Binick for a 4-1 lead.

The Ducks made it 5-1 in the sixth on an RBI double by Brandon Pinckney.

Randy Keisler (5-3) picked up the win, allowing a run on five hits in six innings pitched. Doug Arguello (6-8) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits in six innings pitched.

The 2012 Somerset Patriots Season will continue at home on Friday night when they take on the Bridgeport Bluefish at 7:05 pm.  The game includes Top 15 Patriots Card Strips. There will also be a special appearance by Batman and Halloween Night.
