No Lack of Offense for Barnstormers in Win vs. Patriots

Hoorelbeke three-run homer a bright spot for Somerset.

The Lancaster Barnstormers defeated the 14-5 at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday evening.

The Barnstormers exploded to score nine runs in the top of the second inning on RBI base hits by Gilberto Mejia, Fehlandt Lentini and Francisco Hernandez followed by two RBI doubles by Travis Denker and Blake Gailen and a two run homerun by Ryan Harvey (19).

A three run homerun by Jesse Hoorelbeke (17) in the bottom half of the fourth inning got the Patriots on the board and made the score 9-3.

Lancaster tacked on two more runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Gailen and a sacrifice fly to center by Lentini to increase their lead to 11-3.

The Barnstormers continued to pile on runs scoring three more in the top of the eighth on RBI base hits by Lentini and Harvey and a sacrifice fly to right by Denker to make the score 14-3.

An RBI single by Rian Kiniry in the eighth brought home a run for the Patriots and made the score 14-4.

Jeff Nettles drove home a run on an RBI single in the ninth for the 14-5 final.

Lancaster starter J.D. Durbin (11-9) got the win after allowing three runs on seven hits in seven innings pitched.  Chase Wright (4-2) picked up the loss, surrendering nine runs on nine hits over two innings pitched.
