Patriots Have Tough Time With Revolution

Somerset falls by eight runs.

The York Revolution defeated the 9-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday afternoon.

York scored to take the lead in the top of the fifth inning after two runs came around to score on an error by catcher Yusuf Carter.  Chris Nowak (21) followed the error with a three run homerun to put the Revolution on top 5-0.

The following inning Nowak drove an RBI single to left field to increase their lead to 6-0.

The Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the seventh after Corey Smith came around to score when Jeff Nettles hit into a double play to make the score 6-1.

Nowak (22) drove a three-run homerun over the left field wall, his second of the game, to give the Revolution a 9-1 advantage.  Nowak finished the game with seven RBI.

Ryan Feierabend (5-3) got the win for York, allowing a run and striking out ten batters in eight innings of work.  Sean Green (3-5) suffered the loss for Somerset, surrendering six runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched.

The 2012 Somerset Patriots season will continue at home on Wednesday evening when the Patriots take on the York Revolution at 7:05 p.m. The game features a post-game fireworks show.
