Somerset Patriots Fan Fest Set For April 14

Event is admission free and includes special activities.

The five-time Atlantic League Champion have announced that Patriots Fan Fest will take place at TD Bank Ballpark on April 14 from noon to 3 p.m.

Patriots Fan Fest is a free admission event and includes a chance for fans to meet and get autographs from Patriots manager Sparky Lyle and Patriots players.

Young Patriots fans will be able to sign up for three exciting programs. Dancers will be able to be a part of the Patriots Junior Dance Team, which will perform before four fireworks shows during the 2012 season. Kids 6-15 will be able to interview to become the Patriots Kid CEO for the season and learn different parts of the team’s business including promotions, public relations, ticketing, operations, and merchandising. Kids can sign up to join the Somerset Sluggers Kids Club.

Fans will be able to participate in carnival games and activities, as well as be entertained by clowns, face painters, and Sparkee and Slider. Fans will have the opportunity to participate in photo shoots with Sparkee and Slider. All kids get to run the bases at the conclusion of the event.

Throughout Patriots Fan Fest, the team will provide exclusive ticket discounts for everyone in attendance. There will be a special buy-one, get-one-free offer for any Sunday through Thursday game.

Fans can take tours of the brand new Diamond Club, opening on the suite level this season. The Diamond Club is a large hospitality suite located behind the home plate area for groups to entertain or host meetings.

The event is also the first time that season ticket holders will be able to pick up their tickets for the 2012 season.

The first 500 kids in attendance will receive a free baseball at the event. All fans will receive exclusive discounts on merchandise.

Fans will also be able to enjoy an 1880s style baseball game between the Flemington Neshanock and the Elizabeth Resolutes. Players wear wool uniforms and do not use gloves to field.

“Fan Fest is a great way to officially kick off the season and get our fans geared up for baseball. We look forward to opening the gates and welcoming our fans for the first time in 2012,” said Patrick McVerry, President and General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
