Somerset Patriots Receive Economic Champion Award

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have received the first ever “Economic Champion Award” from Somerset County Tourism, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Somerset County, NJ, a 501(c)3 organization and a Division of the Somerset County Business Partnership.

 

The mission of Somerset County Tourism is to advance the local economy by sustainably promoting the area's outstanding travel products and experiences, and to offer a variety of useful services to residents, business travelers and leisure visitors.

The “Economic Champion Award” distinguishes a tourism professional or organization that has made a significant, direct impact on the Somerset County economy, whether through greater visitor spend, job creation, or increased tax revenues. Indirect impacts will also be considered

“We are honored to receive this first ever award for our positive impact on Somerset County’s economy and tourism industry. TD Bank Ballpark would never have been possible without the vision of our great partners in Somerset County, starting with the Board of Chosen Freeholders, and Somerset County Park Commission, a fellow Somerset County Tourism Award winner. We are excited to build on our first 15 years of success with an even brighter future for our organization and the community,” said Steve Kalafer, Chairman of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

 

Somerset County Tourism hosted their first ever “Salute to Tourism” Awards on Thursday, November 7th at Raritan Valley Country Club to celebrate and honor Somerset County’s communities, partnerships, events and individuals who make positive contributions through tourism and recreation that create economic and social well-being for the County and its people.

 

The award was accepted on behalf of the Somerset Patriots at the event by the team’s Senior Vice President of Marketing Dave Marek, Vice President of Public Relations Marc Russinoff, and mascot Sparkee.
