Somerset Patriots Welcome Back Jonny Tucker

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the re-signing of outfielder Jonny Tucker.

 

Tucker became one of the clubhouse leaders for the Patriots during the 2013 season, finishing with a .262 batting average, 85 runs, 137 hits, 18 doubles, seven triples, 56 RBI, and 25 stolen bases in 132 games played.

“Jonny is a necessity for our success on and off the field as an organization. The endless positives he brings with his energy, leadership, and skills make him a perfect fit for what we are trying to accomplish. He has such a high IQ for the game that makes him invaluable to us and we are very excited to see what he does in 2014,” said Brett Jodie, the manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

Tucker hit .252 with 92 hits, 13 doubles, 31 RBI, and 16 stolen bases for Somerset in 2012. He was signed by the Washington Nationals organization and reported to Double-A for 22 games last season.

 

Tucker also had prior experience in the Nationals and Baltimore Orioles organizations, including two seasons at the Triple-A level.

 

Tucker played 75 games in Double-A in 2011. For Harrisburg he had 50 hits and 23 RBI.

 

He has a career .258 average, 537 runs, 882 hits, 158 doubles, 31 triples, 23 home runs, and 328 RBI in 966 games played.
