Sparkee Helps Deliver Holiday Cheer

Bridgewater, NJ- On the morning of December 17th, everyone's favorite mascot, Sparkee, teamed up with David's Touch Foundation to bring holiday cheer to children currently undergoing treatment at local hospitals.  Throughout the year, David's Touch Foundation collected toys at various events, including the Somerset Patriots Christmas in July fundraiser at TD Bank Ballpark, to distribute to the children.

In addition to representatives from David's Touch Foundation, Sparkee was also joined by Santa, members of the New Jersey State Police, Middlesex County Department of Corrections, and representatives from the organization's partners.  Santa went room to room delivering toys to children at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Children’s Specialized Hospital, both located at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ directly down the street.

“The Patriots were honored to team up with David's Touch Foundation for the second straight year to help with this wonderful event,” said Patrick McVerry, President and General Manager of the Somerset Patriots.  “It's always great to be able to help put a smile on a child's face, especially around the holidays.”

David's Touch Foundation was founded by Jenny Perez-Rosado in memory of her son David.  Their mission is to spread David's contagious smile to children in need.  For more information, please visit http://www.davidstouch.org
