Basketball Camp Registration Open

The camp will last from June 25 through Aug. 3.

The 2012 Bridgewater-Raritan Basketball Camps are preparing for their fourth summer, and registration is open now.

The summer camp program is open for children entering the first through ninth grades in Sept. 2012. There are about four separate age groups during each week of camp, and boys and girls play together in the co-ed sessions.

The morning session is from 9 a.m. to noon, and the afternoon session is from noon to 3 p.m. Half-day options are available as well.

The camp is broken down into the following weeks:

  • Week #1, June 25 through June 29—Teaching Concentration is “Individual Offensive Improvement,” and the camp is co-ed at with featured guest speaker Mark Taylor from St. Benedict’s Prep.
  • Week #2, July 2, 3, 5 and 6—Teaching Concentration is “4-Day Shooting School,” and the session is co-ed at BRHS with no camp on July 4. There will be featured guest speaker Expert shooting instructor ‘The Shotman,’ and individual shooting instruction via video breakdown with a high school coach.
  • Week #3, July 9 through July 13—Teaching Concentration is “Team Basketball” in a boys only session at BRHS, with featured guest speaker Former B-R coach, Tim Ortelli.
  • Week #4, July 16 through July 20—Teaching Concentration is “Basketball Agility Workouts” and it is co-ed at BRHS with featured guest speaker Linden High School Coach Phil Colicchio.
  • Week #5, July 23 through July 27—Teaching Focus is “Position Specific Training” and it is co-ed at with featured guest speaker Anthony Melesurgo from Bound Brook High School.
  • Week #6, July 30 through Aug. 3—Teaching Concentration is “Fast Break Basketball” in the boys only session at BRHS and with featured guest speaker Brian Feath from Ridge High School.

Camp is $205 for the first session, but there are discounts for early payments, and family reductions for children from the same household, as well as multiple week discounts.

The first session is $185 for registraiton before May 1; $195 for registration between May 1 and June 1; and $205 for registration after June 1.

A deduction of $10 per week will be accepted from the camp fee for a second child from the same household. And $20 is deducted for a third child.

After paying for week one of camp, the fee is $100 per week to add additional camps sessions.

Also new for 2012 is an extended care program from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. with a non-basketball supervision program for working parents.
