Bridgewater's Amanda Wong Holds Goalline for Muhlenberg Soccer Team

Notches a dozen saves in Centennial Conference playoff game.

Senior Amanda Wong, of Bridgewater, helped the Muhlenberg College women’s soccer team earn a Centennial Conference playoff berth in 2013.

Wong played in 14 games at goalie for the Mules in her first season as a starter. She finished with 81 saves and a save percentage of .769, recording five shutouts to push her career total to seven.

Wong, who had a 1.43 goals against average in CC matches, saved her best performance for the postseason. The co-captain tied a career high with 12 saves and added a diving stop on the last round of penalty kicks to send the Mules to a shootout victory in the first round of the CC playoffs. The dozen saves were just one shy of the conference record in a postseason contest. Wong also made 12 saves in a scoreless draw against Lebanon Valley in her first start of the season.
