Petty-Evans Nets 29 as Girls Stop Howell

Boys improve to 4-0 this season.

Denisha Petty-Evans finished with a game-high 29 points to go along with 10 rebounds and four assists to help lead the Bridgewater-Raritan girls basketball team past Howell, 67-50, in the first round of the Cougar Classic in Montgomery on Tuesday.

Despite a slow start that saw Bridgewater lead by only one-point heading into the second quarter, the Panthers quickly extended their lead with a 22-12 second quarter on the way to their third win of the season.

Mary Kronenwetter finished with 12 points and eight rebounds and Hannah Brophy added 10 points and four rebounds for Bridgewater (3-1).

Boys Basketball Stays Perfect

Sal Vitello netted 15 points and Scott Bieda and Joe Leotta each added 12 points to lead the Bridgewater-Raritan boys basketball team past Montgomery, 57-55, in the first round of the Cougar Classic in Montgomery, according to NJ.com.

Bridgewater improved to 4-0 on the season with the win. 

Ice Hockey Falls

The Bridgewater-Raritan ice hockey team fell to Ridge, 2-1, in overtime of the quarterfinal round of the Bridgewater Tournament at Bridgewater Sports Arena on Tuesday, according to NJ.com.

Eric Leutters scored for Bridgewater (7-1-1).
