Panthers Advance to Field Hockey Sectional Semifinals

Shutout Westfield to move to semifinals.

Bridgewater-Raritan High School's field hockey team will face Morris Knolls Nov. 8 in the NJSIAA North 1 Group 4 semifinals, after the Panthers beat Westfield 8-0 Monday, according to NJ.com.   

In the quarterfinal game, Emily Miller was credited with four goals, Lindsay Alvarez scored twice,  and Samantha Giordano and mackenzie Knouse each scored a goal. Alvarez, Giordano and Knouse were also each credited with assists.

The Panthers are the top seeded team in the sectional tournament. In the tournament's other bracket, third-seed Ridge will be playing second-seed Montclair—the winner plays the winner of the Bridgewater—Morris Knolls match.  

The Panthers are 19-1 for the 2013 season, and defeated Ridge on Oct. 19 to claim its sixth consecutive Somerset County title.
