New Year, New Wishes

A new year, a new time for reflection of 2012. What will 2013 bring for you and yours?

Well it's New Year's, and every year people proclaim resolutions and try to right (or "write") the wrongs of the year before. I've never written resolutions as I never end up keeping them, I do however, believe in the power to set goals and hope the best for the future. Last year, I wrote about wanting health and happiness after a year of tolmultuous health issues for myself. I am happy to report, that this has been the year of recovery, health and most importantly, happiness. Not just for me, but for my family too. So now onto 2013 we go, and I'm thinking about what I want for myself, my family, my friends and my community for this coming New Year...

These are my top three wishes for 2013:

* This past year has been hard econcomically for so many, whether it be from storm related issues or in general. With all the drama surrounding the Fiscal Cliff, I hope this year, the economy turns around and brings relief or better yet, lifts a weight off the shoulders of us all!

* Mother Nature has truly not been so nice to New Jersey, so I'm hoping that she lightens up a bit and gives the Garden State a break! In the meantime, I'm hoping we can stay strong and rebuild our beautiful Jersey Shore in time for new summer memories. Some of our favorite places may be lost, but new ones are in the future.

* I'm hoping that we come together as a state, and country and regain our sense of security and safety and allow our children to grow up in a community where they feel safe, and we feel they are safe too. This has been a year of violence, and with all the media coverage surrounding incidents this year, it has been particularly hard to stay in our bubble of safety. No one is immune to many of these issues that have come about surrounding incidents this year. I hope that this year, we take back our country and come together to find solutions to make this world a better place for our children.

So what will you be hoping for this New Year? What will 2013 bring for you and your family?

In addition to thinking about 2013 and what we all hope this year will bring us, it's also nice to look back and think about all the good and bad 2012 brought. Reflection. As with every year, 2012 had it's good and bad moments, but most of all, taught me a lot. I feel that 2012 was a year filled with life lessons, special memories and cherished moments. I can only hope that 2013 will be even better!

Happy New Year to you all...wishing you all the best from my home to yours!
