Because of flooding from the recent rains, there will be no public parking at North Branch Park on Milltown Road for the July 4th fireworks and family festival.

All parking has been moved to Raritan Valley Community College, Route 28 and Lamington Road in Branchburg. Free parking will be available in Lots 1 and 2.

Temporary electronic signs have already been placed on highways, advising of the change in parking.

Parking will also be prohibited on the roads in the neighborhood of the park.

Thousands annually attend the fireworks and family festival, making it one of the most popular events of the summer in Somerset County.

The entire schedule of entertainment and performances is expected to take place as originally scheduled, including a Revolutionary War re-enactment, children’s games and activities, plenty of food, and the fireworks display which will begin at 9:30 p.m.

In case of rain, the fireworks will be held on the first clear evening.
