July 4th Featuring Music, Games, Fireworks

The county is holding its annual July 4 celebration.

Somerset County is celebrating America's independence with a grand celebration that will include music, re-enactments and lots of fireworks.

The celebration will be held at from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Performances will be given by Wallstreet and Smooth. Wallstreet will play its own original songs, in addition to soul tunes, while Smooth will be playing the Motown songs of the Temptations, Four Tops and Smokey Robinson.

In addition to the music, there will be children's activities, like a moonbounce, and historical re-enactments about colonial times.

The park will be full of people enjoying the food and activities, and fireworks will begin to celebrate America's birthday at 9:30 p.m.

And just down the road, the , on Milltown Road, will be holding its annual fundraiser, raising money to benefit the department.

The firefighters will be collecting money while holding a coin toss for people who want to take part.
