Township Meetings Prepare Response to Mosque Ruling

Township Council, Planning Board meetings will discuss overturned Al Falah Center decision.

In 2011, the Bridgewater Township Planning Board denied an application by the Al Falah Center to build a mosque on Mountain Top Road after the township approved a zoning change that made the former banquet hall location ineligible for use as  a house of worship.

The center responded with a lawsuit, and last week, federal judge Michael Shipp ordered the planning board to revisit the application—without considering the new zoning.

Both the Township Council and the Planning Board will meet with attorneys behind closed doors to discuss the ruling and determine the next steps for the township.

There's more to look forward to this week, also—check the schedule for the highlights.
